Island Inferno is returning to Charlottetown. Team P.E.I. Kickboxing Club in Charlottetown will present the fourth installment of their award-winning event Saturday, May 16, at the Delta Prince Edward hotel ballroom. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. The full-contact amateur event has been named the best kickboxing event in Canada and it will continue to impress with an exciting lineup of bouts featuring male and female athletes from the Team P.E.I. Kickboxing Club competing against a strong contingent of kickboxers from Truro, N.S., and Burlington, Ont. | JUST THE FACTS At least two Canadian title bouts are scheduled to take place at the event. Kickboxing P.E.I. Inc., president and head instructor of Team P.E.I. Kickboxing, Barry Ogg, promises an exciting night of family entertainment. | “Kickboxing is a very regulated and safe sport to compete in and all the coaches, judges, referees and officials are nationally certified,” said Ogg. “We have a skilled lineup of young athletes making their debuts at home right up to several national and international competitors and Canadian champions. “Anyone who has been to our previous shows knows what a Las Vegas-type feel we have at the Delta ballroom which gives our athletes and fans a fantastic memory and helps us to continue to build the sport on P.E.I. and across Canada.” General admission tickets will be available at Atlantic Fitness Center locations as well as at the door. |
