Team PEI Kickboxing

Instructors

Head Instructor Barry Ogg has been involved in the sport of Kickboxing since 1997. As founder and President of Kickboxing PEI, Barry was very proud to see all of his hard work come to fruition with kickboxing being accepted into Sport PEI.
Barry takes great pride in teaching the fundamentals of kickboxing and seeing how the workout can change a student's fitness level, confidence, and outlook on life. Having had ring experience and many years of preparing and coaching competitive athletes, Barry looks forward to helping members who wish to compete.
'I am just a guy who who loves the sport of kickboxing. My greatest reward is helping others acquire the skills regardless of their goals and motivating members to reach fitness levels they never thought possible. Seeing how kickboxing can change a person never ceases to amaze me.'

The club has a solid nucleus of senior students who are always willing to lend a hand.

'There are no egos or pedestals in this club. I enjoy working with and exchanging ideas with the many club leaders and students across Canada. Kickboxing is very popular world wide and we are very happy to be part of the family.'
Team PEI is proud to lead by being the first, and only, CASK certified club on Prince Edward Island. The benefits of training within a CASK certified club are many, with just a few key points listed below. For those members who wish to join the amateur competitive circuit, they can do so in an environment where, 'safety comes first'.

What does it mean to be part of a
'Council of Amateur Sport Kickboxing'
Certified Club?
'Council of Amateur Sport Kickboxing', known as CASK, is the National Sports Organization for kickboxing in Canada. For CASK to become the NSO it had to meet rigorous government and insurance standards and regulations, achieving an unrivaled level of excellence , in the management and delivery of its code of ethics, safety measures, and responsibilities to kickboxing athletes.

  • CASK Certified coaches instruct all classes. Along with completing the CASK Coaching Certification Course, each coach must have passed and hold a current, recognized First Aid/CPR training course, accompanied by an approved police vulnerability background record check.

  • All CASK members, coaches and officials hold mandatory CASK insurance coverage.

  • As a CASK certified club we adhere to a strict code of conduct governing all club activities.

Information about joining a CASK certified kickboxing club:

As a member of Team PEI Kickboxing, joining CASK is mandatory, and well worth it, if only for the insurance coverage which you can read about on the CASK site. Recreational insurance or competitive insurance is available and renewable on an annual basis. This annual fee must be paid upon joining our club because if an insured member was to be hurt by an uninsured member then the insured member's insurance would be void.
It is very important to know that:

**ALL CASK CERTIFIED CLUBS MUST HAVE A CERTIFIED COACH ON HAND DURING ALL CLASSES OR YOUR INSURANCE COVERAGE IS VOID!**   Download the CASK Policy Document

Failure to comply to this rule puts the club at risk of suspension and the members at risk of being injured without any insurance protection.
